NDASFAA SPOTLIGHT

NDASFAA Conference 2012 – We have Survived the Mayhem!  What a fantastic conference we just came back from at Sitting Bull College and Prairie Knights Casino in Fort Yates.   It was packed full of information, updates and great experiences. We had great vendors, sessions, and who could forget the unique young lady, Rochelle Forget, with her cultural presentation.  She kept everyone’s attention with her story and demonstrations.  We appreciated having Rick Renshaw, Training Officer for Region VIII of the U.S. Department of Education coming from Denver to share his updates, answer questions, and being so inviting for more of our questions or concerns.   We are all thinking like futurist’s after an uplifting and motivating presentation by Clark Wold at the banquet and also where we discovered we once again had many decades of experience in our Years of Service Awards.  The Presidents’ Awards were given out to some really special people.  Peggy Wipf was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for her caring and giving of knowledge, mentoring, and involvement with our profession.   Val Heilman was honored with the Rookie Award for stepping up to the plate with training and never being shy about assisting.  Marcia Pritchert received the Presidents’ Award for all of her committed time and wealth of background knowledge with our Association.  Congratulations to all recipients.  Thanks again to all the committees and presenters that dedicated their time to making this another successful conference.
