Big Changes in ESU Staffing:
The story begins with the State of Kansas retirement program. If you had so many years of service and were a classified employee you were offered incentives to retire early. Long time loan certification officer, Marion Jones, took advantage of that opportunity. At the same time Cindy Brown moved to Mississippi with her husband. When they exited, so did our entire loan department. But, when one door closes….Enter Jessica Sauer who is our new loan certification officer. Previously Jessica was in charge of our reception area. Darcy Johnson came on board, also in our loan department. She had been employed with a textbook company. So, that leaves our reception area unattended. But, again….Enter Mac Schwartz. Mac was our graduate assistant overseeing work programs. We are still in need of a graduate assistant, but so far so good. We will miss Marion and Cindy and are fortunate to have Jessica, Darcy and Mac. Financial Aid really is all about change and adapt.

Jointly sponsored by the Provost’s Office and the department of Human Resources and Equal Opportunity, the purpose of the Staff Fellows Program is to make KU a stronger institution by providing opportunities for selected staff to take part in a structured program of professional development that includes skill and leadership development and the opportunity to gain broader knowledge of the University of Kansas.
