WyASFAA News

WyASFAA recently met in Casper at the C’mon Inn for our annual state meeting.  We had a great time with so many informative sessions!  WyASFAA raised money this year to donate to the Casper Homeless Liaison.  I was very proud of the association for this effort!

New (and some returning) officers took charge of the board meeting.  I’m proud to announce this year’s WyASFAA Executive Board

President                            Kelly Svenkesen

President-Elect                 Joey French

Secretary                             Lizzy Hede

Treasurer                            Adrienne Plemel

Past-president                  Kelly Svenkesen (yep, that’s me on both past and current! Don’t worry I’m loving it!)

We are still in the early stages of planning RMASFAA 2013 and have some great new leaders stepping into the role of conference and site chairs.  I’m very excited to see these new leaders step forward!  Thanks Dawn Knight of Nelnet for agreeing to serve as conference co-chair with me!  And another thanks to Joey French for serving as site chair!

It seems like everyone in the state is welcoming new people!  And a few of us are saying goodbye too!  At Laramie County Community College we said goodbye to Dennis Schroeder who decided to retire.  Best wishes!  The selection process for a new director is currently underway.

At Casper College, we are pleased to announce Darry Voigt has been appointed Executive Director of Enrollment Services at Casper College and will be moving the combined offices of Admissions, Records and Financial Aid into the new Enrollment Services area of the soon to be completed Gateway Building on campus.  Congratulations!

That’s our news!  Have a great summer everyone!

Kelly Svenkesen

WyASFAA State President
