Kristy Gilreath, Associate Director of Financial Aid at Carroll College has accepted an Associate Director position of Human Resources at Carroll. Kristy is currently pursuing her second degree in accounting and her experience with our Staff Advisory Committee and Compensation Taskforce will strengthen her leadership in this new endeavor.
Her vacancy will be a big loss for MASFAA, RMASFAA and Carroll College. Kristy currently serves on our MASFAA Board and is our RMASFAA Conference Program Chair. While we are sad to see Kristy leave financial aid we are excited for all of the opportunities that lie ahead for her.
At the University of Montana, Leigh Addison is retiring after working at UM for over 35 years. She loves us, but has already announced that she will NOT be here on the first day of the start of this year. We have had two of our folks get promoted to Evaluator position—Ginger Lowry and Sophie Haugsjaa. Both Ginger and Sophie have been with us for a few years and we’re excited that they both have gotten new challenges and different positions. Barb McLean who was our Customer Service Supervisor has left us to spend more time with her family, but we are thrilled that we have hired Ilean Gladstone for that position. Ilean was on our campus a few years ago in our Business Office before becoming an Academic Advisor. She left us because she got married and moved away. Lucky for us, her husband’s job has brought them back in the area and we are lucky to have snagged Ilean back to UM.
Central Community College-Hastings Campus does have a new staff person who started on June 13th. Her name is Megan Fritz and she is the Administrative Assistant in our office. It is a new position – nobody left. She is very new to the financial aid industry and is a recent graduation of CCC-Hastings Campus in Business Administration. We are anxious to “break her in”!!!
Shareen Thewke from the University of Nebraska-Omaha (and former NeASFAA president) has taken a position with the University’s Central Administration as a Functional Coordinator for the University of Nebraska System’s Student Information System (NESIS). She will be greatly missed on all levels.
