The Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees and Border Security will hold its first hearing on the DREAM Act on Tuesday, June 28 at 10:00 am EDT. For those not in Washington who would like to view the hearing, there will be a live webcast on the Senate Judiciary Committee website. Senator Dick Durbin’s office – he being a long time supporter of the DREAM Act – contacted NASFAA this afternoon and requested that NASFAA submit testimony that he will enter into the official Congressional Record in support of the bill. As you know, NASFAA has also been a long time supporter of the Federal DREAM Act. Per the board’s action in May, we will also be mentioning administrative relief for otherwise DREAM-eligible students in our testimony.
